In addition to Ali Khamenei, other leading regime figures have been killed in the airstrikes on Iran. At the end of his video message, US President Donald Trump addressed the Iranian people and outlined the future of the country as follows: "Bombs will be dropping everywhere. When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take." The European press paints a more complex picture.

The citizens' initiative "My voice, My Choice" has collected 1.1 million signatures for safe abortions in the EU and submitted it to the European Commission. The Commission ruled that EU states can use existing funding from other programmes to pay for abortions but stopped short of setting up a new fund to cover treatment and travel costs. A victory?

L'armée béninoise renforce son action sociale dans le nord du pays. Dans la région dite des 2KP, plusieurs villages disposent désormais d'eau potable. Des infrastructures scolaires ont aussi été livrées.

Depuis le 27 février 2026, les habitants de Makrou, Yinkinin, Becket et d'autres localités des communes de Kouandé et Kérou ont accès à de nouveaux forages.

Les ouvrages sont équipés de pompes solaires d'une capacité de 1.500 watts. Ils doivent améliorer l'approvisionnement en eau dans cette zone confrontée à des défis sécuritaires.

A Pehunco, le CEG 1 a reçu un module de trois salles de classe.

Plus de 400 tables et bancs ont été installés pour les élèves.

Ces réalisations ont été offertes par les Forces armées béninoises (FAB). Elles s'inscrivent dans les actions civilo-militaires de l'opération Mirador, déployée dans l'Atacora. Le projet a bénéficié de l'appui du Département américain de la Défense, de l'ONG Spirit of America et de Strategic Stabilization Advisors.

La cérémonie de remise s'est tenue à Pehunco. Elle a été précédée d'une visite des installations conduite par le colonel Adamasso Valère, commandant adjoint de l'opération Mirador, aux côtés du colonel Tassou Abdou Wassiou, responsable des actions civilo-militaires.

« Nous célébrons un pacte de confiance entre l'armée béninoise et les populations que nous avons pour mission de protéger », a déclaré le commandant adjoint. Selon lui, la sécurité durable « se construit avec les populations et pour les populations ». Il a souligné qu'aucune armée ne peut obtenir de résultats durables sans l'adhésion des communautés.

Autorités locales, chefs traditionnels et élèves ont pris part à la cérémonie. Le maire de Pehunco, Orou Maré Koto, a salué un geste « fort » en faveur du développement local. Le représentant du préfet de l'Atacora, Mohamed Bawa Cissé, a estimé que ces infrastructures contribuent à renforcer la résilience des habitants dans un contexte sécuritaire sensible.

Créée en mars 2025, la cellule des actions civilo-militaires de l'opération Mirador se veut un cadre permanent de concertation entre l'armée, les autorités et les communautés. L'objectif est de répondre aux besoins essentiels tout en consolidant la confiance dans les zones exposées aux menaces terroristes.
