Le parti Mouvement des élites engagées pour l'émancipation du Bénin (Moele-Bénin) soutient la candidature du ministre d'État, Romuald Wadagni chargé de l'Économie et des finances. C'est au terme de la rencontre tenue jeudi 3 septembre 2025, avec le candidat au siège du parti à Zongo, Cotonou.

Le Bureau politique national de Moele Bénin vient d'afficher son soutien pour la candidature de Romuald Wadagni à l'élection présidentielle de 2026. « Bien que cette décision soit un gage de reconnaissance de la part de tous les membres du Bureau politique national, de la capacité du candidat à assurer, à la suite du président Patrice Talon, un développement harmonieux et équitable du Bénin, elle sera, conformément aux statuts du parti, soumise pour adoption au congrès extraordinaire convoqué à cet effet, le vendredi 5 septembre 2025 », a déclaré le président du parti Jacques Ayadji. Le congrès extraordinaire de ce jour permettra donc d'attester le choix de Romuald Wadagni.

The tone of exchanges between Israel and Europe is becoming harsher. In a break with previous language, EU Commission Vice-President Teresa Ribera described Israel's actions in Gaza as "genocide". Speaking in Paris, the Spanish politician said that the situation there had exposed "Europe's failure" to act and speak with one voice on this issue. The Belgian government also took a tougher stance this week when it unilaterally imposed sanctions on Israel.

Debate: Brussels approves free-trade deal with Mercosur bloc

The EU Commission has initiated the ratification process for its free trade agreement with the South American Mercosur states. The deal has been under negotiation since 1999. New safeguard clauses for agricultural products have been introduced to overcome any remaining opposition before the deal is put to vote at the national and European level. If it comes into force, the agreement will create one of the largest free-trade zones in the world.
